About Ruthie Morgan

Originally from Scotland, Ruthie’s career has followed a winding road. After graduating with a First Class Honors degree from Loughborough University in England she pursued an adrenaline fuelled career in running. When her legs got tired she side stepped: from international distance runner to coffee shop owner, high school teacher to counselor, private tutor to Bed and Breakfast owner.

Her love affair with words began as a small child and essay writing won her a place representing Great Britain at the International Olympic Academy Conference in Greece (1997). Skylark is her first book of commercial fiction.

Skylark was the winner of the 2014 Drunken Druid International Book Award, was placed as ‘Finalist’ in the Readers Favorite 2105 International Book Awards; Women’s Fiction Category, and was recently short listed for the  UK 2015 Impress Prize for new writers.

Ruthie now lives by the ocean in New Zealand’s South Island with her Canadian husband and their four children, she writes daily and balances the madness of her life by writing, running on the beach and drinking great coffee.
